Today Webcron successfully moved all it's core services to a new datacenter. After a week of preparation to avoid downtime longer then 10 minutes we are very proud with the actual 1 minute of interrupted cron service this morning. Monitoring wasn't interrupted at all!

Why moving in the first place?

We are rapidly growing and the infrastructure needed to grow too! The increasing numbers of clients on the US West-coast, Japan and China needed faster transfer times and communication of our 10 global monitoring stations with the main servers benefit from this as well.

After testing several, we have chosen LeaseWeb for it's quality of infrastructure, staff and the CO2-neutral operations. Our servers are housed at the Evoswitch datacenter in Haarlem, the Netherlands, near Amsterdam. They peer with all major internet exchanges and got multiple private peers which results in a huge increase in performance for Webcron. Network details can be viewed here.
